Most aluminum barrier gate arms must be supported when they exceed 16-18 ft in length. The best way to support a barrier gate arm is the "MB Bolt-Down Cradle" pictured in orange. When a bolt-down cradle is not possible then the next best choice is the "MB Drop Down Prop"

The MB bolt-down cradle is a heavy duty cradle that is vertically adjustable within a 12 inch range. It is used to support 16ft plus barrier gate arms or shorter arms in abusive situations where arms may be subject excessive weight loads from humans.

The MB Drop-down cradle is a light duty cradle that is attached to the barrier arm. It drops down to the vertical position when the arm is in the horizontal position. This type of cradle is used when the MB Bolt-Down cradle cannot be used. It will support the arm to prevent arm sag, but it doesn't have the stability of the MB Bolt-Down Cradle.
