Manually Retractable Bollards

When to use a Manually Retractable Bollard?

A manually retractable bollard is used for installations where the bollard is stored in the ground in its steel encasement.
Unlike removable bollards you do not have to carry them away.
The retracted bollard is lifted up with an attached "tee" handle and locks automatically into place.
A special key is used to unlock the extended bollard and it is then lowered into the retracted position using the tee handle.

These bollards are stainless steel and come completely assembled. A 4ft deep hole is augered out using standard post
hole digging equipment and the bollard assembly is fill compacted into the hole. A concrete or paver collar is formed
around the hole to complete the installation.

This is a cost effective way to block vehicle access on a temporary basis.
Stainless Steel has many advantages over paint. Stainless Steel is more resistant to rust than carbon
steel and is less likely to  need to be repainted like painted bollards and graffiti  is easily removed with cleaning products.

Manual units operate by the release key and lowering or raising the unit by hand without any mechanism to help in the lifting.
Therefore they are smaller in diameter to reduce the weight that has to be lifted.
